Navigate and select output

Terminal selection and search use stable history positions. New output and pane reflow preserve the location where possible; history that has been evicted cannot be recovered.

Shell integration reports prompt and command boundaries. Use pane Find to scope a search to current or previous command output, navigate prompt boundaries, and select command output from the terminal context menu. Boundaries depend on the shell or program emitting integration markers.

Composed text and Unicode

The engine uses pinned Unicode 18 grapheme data and supports DEC private mode 2027. Composed text from macOS input methods uses the terminal cell layout. Copy, captures, and checkpoints preserve stored clusters.

Fallback fonts and features

Terminal settings accept an ordered list of fallback font families and OpenType feature tags. For example, use Menlo and Apple Color Emoji as fallback families and calt=0 or ss01=1 as feature settings. Available glyphs and features depend on installed fonts.
